Discovering Your Enneagram Type

Enneagram Typing Interview

What is the Enneagram?

You’ll find numerous explanations online, but here’s what’s used at Simply Told:

The Enneagram is a guide to celebrating and appreciating our differences.

We each interact with the world in unique ways. The Enneagram uses nine types to assist in comprehending our motivations behind the precious stories of how we interact with people and circumstances.

Understanding these motivations not only brings self-discovery, but keeps those discoveries as guiding lights for developing empathy and compassion for ourselves and others.

What is the typing interview like?

  • You’re asked a series of questions. This takes about 60–70 minutes.
  • At the end of the interview, you are presented with two or three Enneagram types that were most noticeable during the interview. We’ll talk together about those results.
  • You are not told your type – that’s up to you! This interview is a guide to help you discern.
  • If you have an idea of your enneagram type, do not reveal it until the end of the interview. We start with a clean slate.

What Are The Two Pricing Options?

  • The $147 option simply adds LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is an experiential process used in guided workshops.
  • The $97 is only the Enneagram interview. Either option has the same goal: helping you discern your Enneagram type. They just take slightly different paths.
  • With the $147 option there is extra time involved. A small, versatile, curated set of LEGO® bricks are provided. Your mailing address is requested at booking for shipping.
  • The main focus is still your Enneagram type. LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® simply allows for a more experiential process.

Who interviews me?

Brian Holaway, owner of Simply Told, conducts the interview. Brian has completed extensive enneagram training and is near certification as an enneagram typing professional with The Narrative Enneagram.

Why would I not just take an online test?

Great question!

An online test can be helpful, but it is ill-equipped to determine the motivations behind how you interact with the world. Tests often focus on behavior.

During an interview, a trained Enneagram typing professional asks relevant questions and listens for motivations, rather than behaviors.

This method not only brings clarity but also serves as a guiding light for developing empathy and compassion for ourselves and others.

What if I have additional questions after the interview?

As a follow-up to the interview, you will receive a summary of the results, along with simple next steps.

If time allows we may briefly cover wings, resource types, and subtypes. However, our primary goal is guiding you in discovering your type.

Brian is also happy to offer further coaching and teaching if that is something you would like to pursue with additional sessions.
